Michigan Enrolled SB 406 Passes,
Construction Lien Law Amended
Gov. Engler signed into law on Nov. 7 Public Act No. 151 of 2001 (enrolled Senate Bill 406), effective immediately. The new law amends the 1980 PA497 by amending section 110 of the state construction lien law (MCL 570.1110, amended by 1982 PA 17). Among other items, the new law increases the penalties for falsifications in sworn statements by construction contractors.
