2003 AWS Expo
Slated for Detroit

The American Welding Society (www.aws.org) has announced it will hold its 2003 International Welding and Fabricating Exposition and Annual Convention at Cobo Center in Detroit, April 8-10. Thought to be the largest welding trade show in North America, the 2003 AWS Expo will feature the latest in technologies and equipment for welding, cutting, fabricating and related metalworking.

"Detroit has always been a favorite city for the AWS Expos," AWS President Richard Arn said. The AWS International Expo was last held in Detroit in 1998. "During our last visit to Detroit in 1998, we had an excellent show and believe we can duplicate that success for our exhibitors in 2003." The 2003 event will feature educational conferences in addition to exhibits and displays. Organizers say it will highlight research and service contributions of AWS members and allied organizations by being a welding and fabricating focused event.
