AZZ Galvanizing Services, a division of AZZ, Inc, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas owns and operates 20 facilities in 11 states. AZZ Galvanizing is the largest galvanizer in America with kettles ranging from 58' to 25' in length. The Plymouth facility features a 45'L X 6'W X 8'D kettle, one of the largest in the Midwest. The Hamilton, Indiana facility operates a 35'L X 6'W X 12'6"D kettle and has spinning capacity for small parts.

AZZ's network of plants means there is always a facility near you in the Great Lakes region with the capability to run the largest projects with a customized turnaround time at a competitive price. AZZ has implemented "GalvXtra", their nickel-alloy process providing quality that is necessary to meet the high standards in the steel fabrication market.

The endurance of the hot dip galvanized coating has become especially important in the Midwest states where aggressive corrosion environments such as sub-zero weather, road salt spray or UV rays can affect steel products such as transmission poles, bridges, or transportation infrastructure. Galvanizing is a factory controlled process and can be done 24-7, 365 days per year, rain, sleet or snow. Other than some improvements in technology, the process has remained the same 4 basic steps. Receiving the steel at the galvanizing plant, cleaning the steel product by alkaline and acid baths, total immersion into 830 degree zinc bath where the metallurgical zinc iron alloys are formed, followed by careful inspection. The product can then be shipped for its intended use.

Protecting the environment is a primary concern at AZZ Galvanizing. There are no VOC's in the galvanizing process. Zinc is a natural element found in the air, soil and water and necessary for human life. At AZZ over 30% of the zinc used for galvanizing comes from recycled zinc and the zinc loses none of it properties when recycled again. All AZZ Galvanizing facilities are vigilant about reducing any emissions and embrace sustainable development as a guiding principle to business operations.
