Douglas Steel Fabricating Corp. was founded in 1952 by Douglas Reniger and Paul Gillett in an 11,000 sq. ft. plant in Lansing, beginning by specializing in pedestrian bridges, crane runways, and truss-framed industrial buildings. Now operating out of an expanded 50,000 sq. ft. plant, Douglas Steel is one of the largest steel fabricators and erectors in Michigan. The company has built civic arenas, schools, government buildings, shopping malls, factories, industrial tanks, vessels, conveying equipment, warehouses, hospitals, powerhouses, and airport terminals. It provides premier capabilities in all areas of structural steel detailing, fabrication and erection for a wide range of industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. Its detailing staff offers more than a century of combined experience in preconstruction services, value engineering and detail drafting.
