Vertex Steel Inc.
Joins GLFEA

January 2002 – Milford-based Vertex Steel Inc. joined the Great Lakes Fabricators & Erectors Association earlier this month. The structural steel and miscellaneous iron fabricator and erector was founded in 1989 by two Local 25 Iron Workers, Patrick M. (Mike) Dimet and David Lucas. Dimet has been sole owner since 1995.

With a staff that ranges between 30 and 40 people, Vertex Steel also offers design/build services. The entire staff prides itself on the company's commitment to safety, customer satisfaction, and quality. All employees participate in MUST – Management & Unions Serving Together. Vertex Steel serves a client base that is 70% heavy industrial, including many automotive clients, and 30% commercial out of its 14,000 square foot plant in Milford. Recent projects include work on the new UAW-GM Center for Human Resources on the riverfront east of downtown Detroit and the parking structure at General Motors' Tech Center in Warren.
